| Watercraft Operators Permit Training is scheduled for Friday, June 27 at the Hackensack Community Center. Several lake associations are working with the Sheriff's Department, the Lions Club, DNR, and the Town of Hackensack to provide training aimed at youth 12 years of age and older. Included are information, hands-on training in boats on the water, lunch, and a test for the permit. Call Don Harris (675-6285) or any member of the Safety Committee to register your child. | |
| The Minnesota Boating Guide, 2003 (A Summary of Laws & Rules) - GET IT! This small handy booklet is available for free at the DNR, at bait and boating shops, in government offices. READ IT! KNOW WHAT THE RULES ARE BEFORE YOU GET IN YOUR BOAT! Some of the rules have changed slightly, so check it out! | |
| The water level in the lake is somewhat lower than previous years, so be aware that rock hazards will be closer to the surface, just waiting for your propeller to get close. Extra caution may be needed! | |
| Private floats and markers may not be left in the lake overnight unless you have a permit from the County Sheriff ($5 fee required). | |
| Mooring Buoys - Cass County requires that mooring buoys must be located not more than 100 feet from shore. | |
| Swimming Rafts - Cass County requires that swimming rafts must have a permit, be reflectorized on all sides, and be located not more than 150 feet from shore. |
